To the market maker, speed and overview are essential for being able to earn money to the bank, and to provide dealers with the liquidity they need to satisfy their clients’ increasing requirements.

Speed - to be able to make quick decisions in volatile markets and to be able to re-evaluate a great number of securities at a glance.

Overview – to be in full control of all of his/her activties without missing any details in an illiquid security or one not in focus. 

IDEAS offers both speed and overview to the market making function. 

• Monitoring: Compares information on SAXESS with user-defined values. Monitoring can be carried out either of individual securities or of a group of securities, for instance the illiquid part of the market, linked either as spread orders or individually as limit orders
• Price machine: Is fed either manually or automatically with prices from other systems. It is used to fix prices automatically in the market. The prices will be updated every time we import prices
• Average calculation dialogue: Calculates a VWAP for all trades in shares for different user-defined groupings as well as for own SAX trades
• Suspension of trade function: In connection with trade suspension, orders can be deleted in the market or moved to the sideline. This function also allows dealers to enter orders during a suspension period
• Integrated position management system: Enables the dealer to operate in one single system. The individual dealer can establish one or more sub-portfolios containing the dealer’s own positions, in which it is possible to calculate profit/loss, broker’s cut, brokerage etc
